Functional Foods - Organic Cayenne Pepper
Why
I love Cayenne pepper for its wonderful spicy and peppery flavour and I use in all cooking to minimise the need for salt, but substance P is what got my attention. As an IBS sufferer I would do anything to minimise the sensations I am constantly distracted, during the day from my colon. Cayenne pepper does just that if taken orally. *1 Desensitising the gut by depleting substance P.
Cayenne peppers are a type of chili pepper closely related to bell peppers and jalapeños. Available as a spice, it’s easy to incorporate into your diet.
What
Used for both food and medicine, Cayenne pepper can stimulate your body’s circulation and reduce acidity. It is used for conditions of the heart and blood vessels, including to improve poor circulation, reverse excessive blood clotting, lower high cholesterol and prevent heart disease. It has also been found to aid weight loss by naturally stimulating energy expenditure. *2
