My main reasons for the use of Turmeric in my and my son’s diet was to reduce inflammation the most natural way possible. The other reason was the beautiful colour that one can achieve as well as a wonderful flavour.

Functional compounds

Turmeric, Curcumin 


Curcumin is a polyphenol found in turmeric. Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anticancer properties, improvement of brain function, and control of diabetes among others. Curcumin also helps to speed up recovery after surgery*2. However, native curcumin easily degrades and has low oral bioavailability.* 1

More research is on the go to develop more water-soluble turmeric. Taking how extremely potent turmeric is, just a pinch of it daily with pepper, can provide health benefits.

Adding pepper to Turmeric busts its antiasthmatic tic properties. Piperin from black pepper is a potent inhibitor of curcumin metabolism. So always add pinch to your turmeric dish or drink.

Interesting fact

Cooked Turmeric offers better protection for DNA protection, when raw version is better for anti-inflammatory effects. *2 Also, Curcumin in combination with Soya, offers a double benefit for osteoarthritis.

It will stain your teeth, hands and clothing, so be careful.


Enjoy your ‘golden milk’ - turmeric latte. Use it in substitute for salt. Perfect for rice dishes, lentil soup, roasted cauliflower, Scramble Tofu. (Vegan Eggs) I personally love it with a fresh lemonade and first think in the morning with hot lemon water.
